Errazuriz offers the gift of light

13 March, 2009

Errazuriz is reinforcing its green credentials with a consumer competition, encouraging wine lovers to come up with “environmentally savvy suggestions to help save on carbon immersions and waste production at home and at work”.

The competition, which is publicised on collarettes attached to the Chilean wine brand, will reward the senders of the 100 best ideas with set of eight Phillips energy saving light bulbs.

The company said it would “take on board as many ideas as possible” to reduce its own carbon footprint.

The competition will go live from the beginning of April, with a dedicated website at errazuriz-brightideas.co.uk, and will run until July 31.

Rupert Lovie, brand manager for Errazuriz at UK supplier Hatch Mansfield, said: “Errazuriz was the first Chilean wine producer to adopt the move to lightweight bottles on a serious global level across all markets and we are delighted to be focusing this consumer campaign on a topic that is central to the company’s model of production – sustainability and environmentally friendly production.

“We know from consumer research that green production models are a growing factor of importance for people choosing wine and we want to demonstrate that green thinking is central to our philosophy from the vineyard to the bottle on shelf.”
