Coors becomes Molson Coors

31 March, 2009

Coors Brewers has changed its name to Molson Coors Brewing Company, with effect from today (March 31).

Chief executive Mark Hunter said: "This is a positive move which clearly signals our company's parentage and recognises the influence and contribution of both the Molson and Coors families in co-creating one of the world's most significant brewing organisations, with operations spanning the globe from the United States, Canada and Mexico through Europe to China and Japan."

He said that operationally, it remains the same organisation in the UK.

"The company registration number and registered office will not change and any contracts which our customers and suppliers currently have in place with Coors Brewers Limited are unaffected," he said.

Molson Coors Brewing Company is the fifth largest brewer worldwide and has UK breweries in Burton on Trent, Alton and Tadcaster.

Its portfolio includes Carling, Coors Light, Grolsch, Worthington's, Caffrey's and Sol as well as a range of speciality beers and lagers.
