He said: "Argentina is getting its act together and fast. The innovation and evolution of the winemaking in Argentina is great to see and people are really beginning to notice.

"Winemakers such as Mauricio Lorca, Susana Balbo and Graciela Reta are really working their magic now.

"Being part of Las Bodegas is a great opportunity to bring the evolving Argentinian experience to more and more UK wine consumers through a growing number of trade customers in all sectors."

Las Bodegas chief executive Laurie Webster said: "Argentina is really taking off now and we can see growth in the UK following the pattern in the US.

"This is a good time for Argentina and for Las Bodegas and I am pleased that with Dominic now on board, bringing experience from outside the wine sector, we will continue to grow this business while maintaining our mantra of offering
