Smirnoff uses Facebook to create nightclub event

Smirnoff is using a Facebook page to put together an event at a London nightclub.

The Smirnoff Experience: UR The Night takes place at Matter on July 10 and will be based around voting on the Facebook page.

Diageo said the only way to attend the event is submit ideas via Facebook in exchange for a chance to obtain free tickets.

Attendees will vote on a number of different elements, including which drinks will be served, what the DJs will play and the theme for a pre-event boat party.

The Pet Shop Boys will be performing on the night.

Nick Mills, brand manager for Smirnoff Original Nights at Diageo GB, said: “Everyone can get involved by submitting their original ideas for the night, which creates a buzz and puts Smirnoff at the forefront of people’s minds when they are in-store, helping to drive sales.”
