Black hole in WSTA accounts
Published:  14 August, 2009

The Wine & Spirit Trade Association has launched an investigation after it discovered a black hole in its accounts.

The trade body has found a £25,000 shortfall in its 2008 financial report, during which time its turnover was £1.2 million.

WSTA chief executive Jeremy Beadles said: “These matters are the subject of ongoing legal investigation and we do not propose to comment further until enquiries have been completed. But the situation does not affect the ongoing financial viability of the WSTA or our plans in 2009.”
