Speakers at the event, hosted by the Wine & Spirit Trade Association, will include Tesco’s Dan Jago, Andrea Ruggeri from Matthew Clark and WSTA chief executive Jeremy Beadles.
Retailers and producers will hear the latest market research from TFC Wines & Spirits and PLB, pointing to growing consumer demand for low-alcohol wines. It will look at the use of such wines in sensible drinking campaigns, and reflect on challenges the category still faces, such as legislation and marketing rules.
Beadles said: “Given the prevailing public agenda around healthy living, it’s timely for the trade to be sharing information and expertise on lower alcohol wines. Some of the biggest names in the business are taking part and I hope this event will stimulate lively debate.”
PLB’s managing director Peter Darbyshire said low alcohol could be a category in its own right: “It gives consumers another level of choice. The forum will show how we can work together without having legislation against us.”
Jancis Robinson MW will chair the event in London on October 1. To attend email firstname.lastname@example.org.
