Rankin resigns from FQR

26 August, 2009

Yvonne Rankin has resigned from her post as chief executive at First Quench Retailing for health reasons.

Rankin joined the business in 2007, but has been away from the business on a temporary basis since May.

Martin Healy, who has been acting chief executive since that time, will continue in the role until a replacement is confirmed.

In a statement, the company said: “Yvonne Rankin has resigned for reasons of ill health. The board would like to place on record its thanks for the valuable contribution Yvonne made to the business in her time as chief executive and, on behalf of everyone at First Quench, wishes her the very best for the future.”

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
