Rankin resigns from FQR

Yvonne Rankin has resigned from her post as chief executive at First Quench Retailing for health reasons.

Rankin joined the business in 2007, but has been away from the business on a temporary basis since May.

Martin Healy, who has been acting chief executive since that time, will continue in the role until a replacement is confirmed.

In a statement, the company said: “Yvonne Rankin has resigned for reasons of ill health. The board would like to place on record its thanks for the valuable contribution Yvonne made to the business in her time as chief executive and, on behalf of everyone at First Quench, wishes her the very best for the future.”

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
