Pernod Ricard cuts 36 jobs

10 September, 2009

Pernod Ricard UK has cut 36 roles from its sales, marketing and communications teams – a move that has meant 14 redundancies.

The company restructured the operation so that some workers were able to find alternative roles. The others will be leaving the business within the next few weeks.

Pernod has also made changes to its executive committee. Nick Blair returns to Pernod Ricard Pacific in Sydney, where he will be global communications director.

Simon Thomas, currently deputy managing director of spirits, will become deputy managing director of wine in January 2010 – a move that aims to make sure the company remains a strong player in the UK wine market.

Simon van Moppes, who was managing the on and off-trade spirits channels, has been appointed commercial director for spirits, and will take on the role from January 2010.
