The region’s stand, I50, will host a range of AOCs and vins de pays to give an overview of the different terroirs and styles available, and Dr Helen Savage of the Journal in Newcastle will be on hand to share her expertise on south west France.
There will also be the latest offerings from producers Cave de Crouseilles, Cave de Labastide de Lévis and Producteurs Plaimont.
For those interested in learning more about the region’s native grape varieties, and the health benefits associated with them, a seminar will take place on May 13 at 11.30am in South Gallery rooms ?9 and 10.
Roger Corder, professor of experimental therapeutics at the William Harvey Institute, will unveil his latest research on wine polyphenols demonstrating the positive effect of red wines from south west France on blood vessels, while wine writer Anthony Rose will explore the region’s indigenous red varieties and some of its most inspiring wines.
