Hennings scoops a trip to the Cape

19 February, 2010

Hennings Wine Merchants has scooped a trip to the Cape after winning a competition run by Off Licence News and Wines of South Africa.

The West Sussex-based retailer won the independent merchant competition for its “strong commercial approach”, said WOSA’s UK market manager Jo Mason.

This is the second year the competition has taken place and independents were eligible to win the trip after running a two-month promotion last year.

Mason said: “Hennings’ approach was designed to have a significant impact on sales and underpin the educational aspects of the promotion, while making the most of South Africa’s exposure during the England cricket tour.”?For this year’s competition, OLN and WOSA will again be inviting retailers to run a promotion around the country’s wines in June or July.

Participating outlets will receive a free merchandising kit with additional football-related items to tie in with the World Cup.

The winning independent will receive a trip to the Cape. Look out for more information on the competition in the April 2 edition of OLN.
