Chance to win £1k in Rioja wine

Off Licence News has teamed up with Wines of Rioja for a major initiative aimed at the independent sector. As part of a drive to help retailers capitalise on sales of the region’s wines, we’ll be inviting readers to run a promotional weekend in store during October. The retailer showing the most flair will then win £1,000 towards their its shipment of wine from Rioja.

Ahead of the promotion, details of which will appear in OLN in August, we are offering 20 independents the chance to visit Rioja on a three-day trip.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
