Published:  19 February, 2010

Casillero del Diablo has added a 2008 Malbec to its range.

The Chilean wine is being listed by Waitrose with an rrp of £7.49, but is on offer at £5.60 until March 16.

Made with Malbec grapes sourced from estate-owned vineyards in the Rapel Valley, it is aged in new and used US oak for eight months and has an abv of 13.5%.

Chief winemaker Marcelo Papa said: “Our Rapel vineyard sites in Cachapoal and Colchagua have an ideal microclimate for Malbec – low rainfall, warm dry summers, distinct diurnal climatic range and ideal soil structure.”
