The deal covers Lurton’s complete portfolio from entry-level to cru classé wines. Key?ranges include châteaux Bonnet, Rochemorin, Couhins Lurton, La Louvière and Dauzac.
Stuart Grundy, Bibendum’s supplier development manager, said: “We’re confident we are now working with the most dynamic and forward-thinking family business in Bordeaux. The wines add a new dimension to our already-strong Bordeaux portfolio.”?André Lurton added: “Having pulled out of the UK in 2009 we are very pleased to be returning so quickly with a much stronger partnership in place.”?Lurton’s wines join a Bibendum?portfolio which includes Les Tourelles des Longueville – the second wine of Château Pichon-Longueville Baron – and Château Cantelys, owned by Smith Haut Lafite.
Bibendum has also signed Chablis producers Patrick Piuze and Domaine Jean Defaix as agencies for the independent wine merchant trade.
