The Department of Energy & Climate Change announced up to £500,000 each has been awarded to? 12 communities, including the village of Hook Norton, through the government’s Low Carbon Community Challenge.

“We are also looking at an anaerobic digester to take brewery waste?, but this is in the very early stages,” said Hook Norton Brewery?’s James Clarke.

“We have hosted meetings of the Hook Norton Low Carbon Group, and also met when they were assessed for this grant, to give our full support to the aims. We are conducting our own carbon reduction works, but I hope there will be synergies with the overall aims of the community.”
