15 Year Old malt recalls Earl’s past

22 January, 2010

Highland Park has released a 15-year-old, cask-strength bottling of its single malt Scotch.

Earl Magnus Edition 1 has been bottled at 52.6% abv and has an rrp?of £85.

The bottling celebrates the life of Earl Magnus, an 11th century ruler of Orkney – where Highland Park is located – who was later canonised and had a nearby cathedral named after him.

The earl was murdered by his cousin Haakon and healing miracles were later said to have occurred around his tomb.

Highland Park global controller Jason Craig said the whisky “captures a period of remarkable history, delivers a full-strength 15 Year Old and is big on flavour and aroma which is succinct and distinguished in taste?”.

The bottle comes in an open-window gift box.
