Tesco has appointed Claire Lorains as its new wine category manager.

From next week, she replaces Andrew Carpenter who has lead the category for the last two years through and moves to a new role in Tesco’s health and beauty department.

Lorains joined Tesco in 2002 and has worked in business planning roles for the retailer.

Tesco said: "Her broad commercial experience will bring valued skills to the beers, wines and spirits team as she continues with the Tesco reputation for bringing excitement, quality and value for money to customers in the wine aisle."
