Beefeater launches special edition gin

28 April, 2010

Beefeater is rolling out a limited edition gin which will only be available during the summer months.

Beefeater London Dry Summer Gin is described as “the perfect accompaniment to summer picnics, parties and barbecues”.

Created by Beefeater’s master distiller Desmond Payne, the gin contains a selection of floral botanicals with elderflower, hibiscus, and blackcurrant added to the botanicals of the original Beefeater recipe.

Payne said: “I wanted to create a gin that would be ideally suited to lighter summer drinks and take advantage of those rarer botanicals that are less available to remind consumers of the wonderful aromas and tastes of summer in a gin.”

The special edition bottle is decorated with images of brightly coloured flowers. It will be available from Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Fortnum & Mason and Harrods, with a recommended retail price of £17.99.
