Wicked Pig spots gap in the market

Wicked Pig is a new pork snack from Tulip which will roll out this summer.

Available in a microwave-ready pack, the “pork-based sausage snack” can be eaten hot or cold and comes in a 42g bag (rrp 59p) and 100g bag (rrp £1).

To support the launch, Wicked Pig is sponsoring new web TV channel Sty TV, which provides “uncultural commentary on everything from news and sports, to cooking and gaming” and will conduct a search for the next big comedy double act.

The snack comes in four flavours – Firecracker Chilli, Southern Fried, Sweet & Sour and Hog Roast.

According to a Wicked Pig spokesperson, only 30% of households buy meat snacks, which creates a real opportunity in a category currently worth £65 million and growing 15% year on year.

What makes wine special

Reaching the 50th instalment of Hemming’s Way is hardly the biggest milestone, but I don’t need much of an excuse to pour myself a glass of champagne before getting dressed. It’s a better reason than I had for all 49 other instalments, anyway. Not that that stopped me.
