Mangrove takes on chocolate spirits range

14 May, 2010

Spirits and liqueur distributor Mangrove has added the Mozart Distillery range of chocolate spirits to its portfolio.

Family-run Mozart Distillery has produced traditional Austrian spirits in Salzburg since 1954.

The lineup includes Mozart Gold, a 17% abv milk chocolate cream liqueur and Mozart Black, a 17% abv dark chocolate liqueur. Both are available in a 50cl bottle with a recommended retail price of £13.50.

Also included in the range is Mozart Dry, a 40% abv spirit distilled from premium chocolate macerate, which comes in a 70cl bottle (rrp £24.99).

Nick Gillett, founder and director of Mangrove, said: ““I am delighted that Mozart have chosen Mangrove to represent them in the UK and we look forward to taking the brand forward in both the off and on-trade.”

Harald König, president of Mozart Distillery, added: “Mozart Distillery spirits are made in homage to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his birthplace Salzburg. We are delighted to be working with Nick and his team at Mangrove in the UK market."

The new addition will sit alongside a roster of brands in the Mangrove portfolio, including Santa Teresa Rum from Venezuela, Herradura & El Jimador tequila and Giffard syrups and liqueurs from France.

Earlier this year Mangrove took on Chase Distillery's portfolio, including its potato-based British vodka.
