19 March, 2010

Oddbins has signed up to the British Retail Consortium to strengthen its pre-election lobbying on drinks retailing issues.

Chief executive Simon Baile said: “We’ve joined the BRC for its impressive record of fighting on behalf of retailing and influencing key decision makers to ensure legislation is introduced in a way that helps retailers thrive. We look forward to working with the BRC and contributing to its work.”?Stephen Robertson, British Retail Consortium director general, said: “With the political and economic uncertainty associated with the looming general election, it’s great to add another voice to the BRC’s lobbying expertise.

“Alcohol is an issue. Oddbins’ membership will boost campaigning to ensure a measured approach to alcohol laws.”
