Chalié Richards?takes on Serres

05 March, 2010

Chalié Richards has won the agency for Rioja house Carlos Serres, established in 1896.

The winery’s portfolio includes Serres, a range of young fruity wines; Carlos Serres, a range of crianza, reserva and gran reserva wines, and Onomástica, two limited-?production wines made from hand-picked grapes.

The wines are targeted at the independent off-trade and the on-trade.

Chalié Richards managing director Bob Rishworth said: “It is rather fitting that the oldest wine merchant in?the UK should be working with one of the oldest Rioja houses.”??Chalié has also secured a number of listings with northern off-licence chain Rhythm & Booze, including for Sir Cliff Richard’s Vida Nova and Onda Nova wines.

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
