l Australian Vintage has launched a sparkling Moscato in the Co-op.

M Sparkling NV (£11.99) is sourced from south eastern Australia and is 12% abv. As well as Moscato it comprises 25% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon.

The brand will be on promotion at £5.99 until March 24.

Constellation has won its first supermarket listing for Chilean brand Gran Tierra, in Asda. An on-pack competition to win a balloon flight will run on single varietal wines, and the brand will be backed by a £500,000 advertising and PR campaign.

Rioja brand Campo Vieja has launched a Spanish cookery masterclass in conjunction with London cookery school Food at 52. It aims to teach people how to make tapas matched to the wines they are drinking, and takes place between March and May.

Cune has released what it claims is the first Rioja crianza to be closed with a screwcap, Cune Crianza 2006 – a blend of 90%Tempranillo and 10% Mazuelo/Grenache.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
