Sauvignon Blanc winners chosen

05 March, 2010

Twenty-three wines have been selected as this year’s Sauvignon Blanc de Loire project ambassadors.

They were chosen by journalists Sarah Jane Evans MW and Sarah Ahmed, and buyers Christine Parkinson from Hakkasan and Cat Lomax from Direct Wines. Sam Harrop MW led the panel and all the wines are from the 2009 vintage.

The tasting was part of the Sauvignon Blanc de Loire project run by Inter Loire.

A spokeswoman said: “T?he panel chose wines that best represent the quality and terroir of Sauvignon Blanc de Loire in a range of styles, which they considered to have the best commercial chances of success in the British market.”?The wines will be shown at the London International Wine Fair in May.
