The 14 Year Old Glenfiddich Rich Oak single malt Scotch whisky was launched at last week’s Whisky Live in London. It has a 40% abv and retails for £30.99.
Malt master Brian Kinsman said: “We pride ourselves in offering a range of pioneering single malts, so I feel honoured to be releasing a whisky that has not only been carefully crafted in the authentic Glenfiddich tradition, but also has a unique story to tell.”?The virgin oak gives the whisky a “lively” taste of “rich vanilla sweetness followed up with zesty fruit flavours and some wood spice”, said the distillery.
To celebrate its association with virgin European wood, Glenfiddich is to plant an oak forest.
Peter Gordon, current chairman and fifth-generation descendent of the distillery’s founder, will plant the first sapling this month.
