Advini plans to set up UK base

28 May, 2010

French wine group Advini is setting up a UK base to facilitate a closer working relationship with its customers.

Now one of the biggest wine groups in France, Advini was created in January from the merger of the Jeanjean and Laroche groups.

The company’s UK office will be headed up by Jérôme d’Hurlaborde, with David Guy as trading director and Anne Roque as national account manager.

Guy moved over from Waverly TBS and Roque is a trained sommelier whose previous post was as brand ambassador for Château Cantenac-Brown.

Company chairman Antoine Leccia said the UK was a key market for the Advini wineries in France, Chile and South Africa.

“Having a base in London will enable us to work more efficiently with our partners, distributors and customers,” said Leccia.

“This market remains one of the most dynamic and we see every reason to invest and strengthen our position in both the UK off and on-trade, with a diverse offer of top-quality wines that meet the demands of British consumers.”?Leccia added that Advini will consider expanding into other winemaking regions in France and abroad in the future.

“If we identify opportunities, we will certainly take a close look at them,” he said.
