Mangrove takes on Mozart liqueurs

Spirits and liqueur distributor Mangrove has added the Mozart distillery range of chocolate spirits to its portfolio.

The family-run Mozart distillery has produced traditional Austrian spirits in Salzburg since 1954.

The line-up includes Mozart Gold, a 17% abv milk chocolate cream liqueur, and Mozart Black, a 17% abv dark chocolate liqueur. Both are available in a 50cl bottle with an rrp of £13.50.

Also included in the range is Mozart Dry, a 40% abv spirit distilled from premium chocolate macerate, which comes in a 70cl bottle (rrp £24.99).

Nick Gillett, founder and director of Mangrove, said: “I am delighted that Mozart has chosen Mangrove to represent it in the UK and we look forward to taking the brand forward in both the on and off-trade.”?Harald König, president of Mozart, added: “Mozart distillery spirits are made in homage to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his birthplace, Salzburg. We are delighted to be working with Nick and his team at Mangrove in the UK market.”?The new addition will sit alongside a roster of brands in the Mangrove portfolio, including Santa Teresa Rum, and Herradura and El Jimador tequila.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
