Extra chance to win Argentina trip of a lifetime

28 May, 2010

Off Licence News has extended the deadline for retailers to enter its competition to win a trip to Argentina, running in association with the country’s generic wine body.

To coincide with the bi-centenary of Argentina’s independence, Wines of Argentina and OLN is looking for the top independent merchants championing the country’s wines in the UK.

To be in with a chance of winning one of five trips to Argentina, merchants must run an in-store promotion around the country’s wines during October.

Retailers will be given all they need to carry out the promotion and those interested in taking part need to complete and return a form, available by emailing lee.sharkey@william-reed.co.uk or writing to OLN and Wines of Argentina: Argentina Goes Independent Competition, William Reed Business Media, Broadfield Park, Crawley, West Sussex RH11 9RT.

Forms must be returned by June 15, after which a shortlist of retailers will be chosen to take part.

The selected merchants will be invited to attend a series of masterclasses to help them learn more about the wines and receive a selection of gold and trophy-winning wines from the Argentina Wine Awards 2010, plus POS material.

A second round after the promotion will determine five winners, based on the success and flair of their in-store activity.

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas

Happily they come, their cheeks ruddy with pride. Half an hour later they’re crawling over muddy clods with lacerated hands, drenched in claggy juice and cold sweat, as if ploughing through an endurance race.
