The independent is opening its first shop away from the head office branch in Standlake, Oxfordshire, this month.
Theo Sloot, who looks after fine wine, said the new shop in Oxford was ideally situated to attract commuters.
“It has its own car park and is close to the railway station,” he said. “We’ve been looking at this site for the past three years and we grabbed it when it came up.”?Sloot said a second shop was due to open in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, in August. If “all goes well” the award-?winning independent would be looking at opening two more shops in Cheltenham and Cirencester.
Each shop will have access to all 1,500 wines in Oxford Wine Company’s portfolio. “This will make us the premier independent in the area,” said Sloot.
