08 January, 2010

Bottle Green has added Kiwi wines to its portfolio after years of searching for the right New Zealand partner.

The Leeds-based importer will be representing Goldridge Estate wines in the UK market from th?is month.

“Our partnership with Goldridge Estate is the culmination of a number of years searching for a New Zealand partner which had the right combination of scale, ambition, brand-building ethos and, above all, wine quality to enable us to really make a difference in the UK market,” said Bottle Green’s commercial director Adam Marshall.

The estates’ two ranges – Goldridge Estate and Goldridge Estate Premium Reserve wines – feature New Zealand’s key varieties from the regions that best produce them, including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir and Riesling from Malborough, Pinot Gris and Syrah from Matakana, Merlot and Chardonnay from Hawkes Bay and Chardonnay from Gisborne.

Goldridge Estate managing director Peter Vegar said: “We are honoured to be the exclusive New Zealand brand in Bottle Green’s portfolio.

“We believe that Bottle Green’s off-trade expertise will be a significant factor in building Goldridge Estate into one of New Zealand’s top wine brands in the UK.”
