Voluntary code fails?

A Wine & Spirit Trade Association survey showed over 30% compliance on five elements of the voluntary agreement on drinks labelling, with over half carrying four of the five elements contained in the code.

Information on the total number of units contained in a product appeared on 63% of drinks packaging and sensible drinking messages on 58%.

The survey examined 1,543 products sold by two major supermarkets.

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
