l Bottle Green is launching a new range from Andrew Peace Wines. The Masterpeace Gold Reserve range is packaged in black and gold, and comprises Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Bottle Green said the Andrew Peace brand was now the eighth biggest Australian brand in the UK off-trade, selling over 17,000 bottles a day.

Surrey wine merchant Wines For U is the new UK distributor for Peccavi Wines from the Margaret River region of Australia. The boutique winery produces two ranges: Peccavi comprises Shiraz, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, and is priced at £24.99; No Regrets Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon and Cabernet Sauvignon are both £12.99.

Languedoc wine producer Château d’Anglès has reinvented itself with a new logo, bottle and label for its wines. It hopes the new image will reflect the “elegance of the south of France” in its wines.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
