Lanson to include disgorgement dates

02 April, 2010

Champagne Lanson will include disgorgement dates on the back labels?of all 75cl bottles of Lanson Black, Rosé and Ivory Label NV imported into the UK.

The move is part of a long-term strategy to educate consumers on the taste of Champagne and explain why different bottles of the same Champagne can taste different, according to the producer.

“Consumers are keen for knowledge about Champagne, so the best thing we can do is to continuously communicate the quality, heritage, provenance and unique taste of Lanson and show why Champagne is worth its premium price point,” said Paul Beavis, UK managing director for Lanson International.

“The move to include disgorgement dates demonstrates this commitment to consumer education and is in line with our approach to communicating what’s in the bottle.

“We are confident we are meeting the needs of consumers and will continue to listen to our customers and act accordingly.”?Lanson celebrates its 250th anniversary this year with the launch of the Lanson Little Black Book of Champagne, which is a guide to the different taste profiles of malolactic and non-malolactic styles of Champagne.
