Now in its third year, the joint initiative will help readers run in-store activity around South African wines. We’re running the promotion earlier this year to help retailers capitalise on the timings of the football World Cup, being hosted by South Africa.
As well as growing sales, one retailer will also win a trip for two to explore South Africa’s spectacular winelands.
The first 150 independent retailers who register to take part in the promotion by Friday, April 30 will be given all they need to run a themed activity in their shop.
Stores will receive a special merchandising kit containing posters, blank shelf barkers, neck collars, a braai (barbecue) book and recipe postcards, plus a training CD giving details of South Africa’s climate and regions. Entrants must run an in-store South African wine promotion or feature during June or July.
To be in with a chance of visiting the stunning winelands and vibrant Cape Town, readers should write to us explaining in 700 words or less how they approached the in-store promotion. Please also include a few pictures showing the promotion in-store.
The deadline for entries to this part is September 24. The winner will be notified by October 29. Judges will be looking for the retailer who has gone the extra mile to create an effective promotion, executed with flair.
A sense of innovation will be considered as important as an uplift in sales.
