Balvenie releases its third Signature

The Balvenie is releasing batch three of its Signature single malt whisky range.

First created by malt master David Stewart in 2008, to mark his 45th year in the whisky industry, The Balvenie Signature 12 Year Old is produced in small numbered batches, with each cask hand-selected by Stewart.

The malt was made by marrying three traditional cask types: first-fill Bourbon, refill Bourbon and sherry. It will be available from mid-May.

“We’ve ended up with a complex single malt with many layers of taste and structure, that really demonstrates the magic of the wood,” Stewart said.

The third batch will have an rrp of £31.49.

Hofmeister may need more than the bear essentials to succeed

So, George The Bear is back. It’s hard for some of us oldies to fathom, but there are those under, say, 40 who can’t actually remember Hofmeister and feel the cultural jolt supplied by the return of both the bear and the beer whose marketing campaigns it used to front.
