The book – Working Together to Reduce Harmful Drinking – calls for wider international co-operation to fight illicit alcohol production, which estimates suggest accounts for between a third and a half of all the world’s production. It also argues the case against more advertising controls and minimum pricing.
Diageo chief executive Paul Walsh said the book, produced by the International Center for Alcohol Policies, was “a timely contribution to the public policy debate on what we can collectively do to tackle issues associated with misuse of alcohol”.
