?Aspall Cuvee for multiples

Success for a new Champagne-style cider from Aspall in the US could mean it will soon be hitting British supermarket shelves.

Cuvee Chevallier is double-fermented, packaged in a Champagne-style bottle, and has an abv of 11.5%.

It has been available in the US market for a month and, according to the Suffolk-based cider producer, feedback has been “very strong”.

A spokeswoman said: “It’s been shown to a selection of major multiples and they’ve all given extremely positive responses.”?The product is already distributed to shops in East Anglia by Tastes of Anglia and has an rrp of £9.99.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
