New Kingfisher chief appointed

16 April, 2010

Kingfisher lager has appointed Damon Swarbrick as new chief executive officer of European operations.

Swarbrick will be based at United Breweries’ Shepherd Neame offices in Faversham, Kent. He has 12 years of experience in the food and drink business, including four years heading up Scottish & Newcastle’s speciality brands team.

“In conjunction with retailers we will continue to develop Kingfisher’s natural fit with Indian food,” he said. “This year has proved that successful, added-value promotions work for the retailer and consumer, and that is something we want to do more with in 2010.”?He said there will be a London-wide outdoor campaign in March, based around matching Kingfisher lager with Indian foods.

The 4.6% abv beer is available in 33cl, 50cl and 66cl NRBs, and has listings in Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Waitrose.
