l Talisker is sponsoring Australian adventurer Don McIntyre and a crew of four sailors as they re?create Captain William Bligh’s 4,000-mile Mutiny on the Bounty open?-boat voyage. The trip will raise funds to help build the world’s first research institute into motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s.

Rare whisky the Dalmore Oculus fetched £27,600 at Bonhams in Edinburgh – the highest price ever paid for a bottle of Dalmore at auction. The whisky is a blend of some of the most exceptional whiskies of the past 140 years, including rare malts selected from vintages distilled in 1868, 1878, 1922, 1926 and 1939.

Glen Dronach has launched a gift pack of miniatures featuring its three classic malts – the 12, 15 and 18 Year Olds (rrp £16.99).

Sourz liqueur will appear on satellite and cable channel Fashion TV this month in a documentary featuring models, designers and the media consuming Sourz long drinks and cocktails over the five-day London Fashion Week events, shows and parties.

Park Place Drinks, which formed? earlier this year, has launched SW4 London Dry Gin – a hand-crafted gin made in Clapham, designed to create “the definitive? G?&?T”?.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
