ZGM closes UK office

25 June, 2010

German wine producer ZGM has closed its offices and made its managing director Steve Howard and four sales and marketing staff redundant.

The company said it felt the move would make it more nimble in responding to customer demands.

Export director Dirk Gennrich said: “The UK office was set up five years ago but we feel our customers will be better served with direct contact from Germany.

“Having a direct relationship with customers will allow us to be close to the market and able to react more quickly to customer requirements.”?He said the company would continue to market brands including Entwine, Bellica and Platinum and supply own-label to Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons and the Co-op.
