Heineken denies Waverley dealHeineken has denied it is lining up a deal to sell its wine distribution division Waverley TBS to Booker. The brewer quashed rumours of a takeover amid speculation. A spokesman said: “I am happy to confirm we have no plans to sell Waverley TBS to Booker.” Booker declined to comment.

Lanson adds brands to rangeChampagne house Lanson will add two new brands to its range and has renamed its UK operation Lanson International. The additions to its portfolio will be Besserat de Bellefon’s Cuvée des Moines range and Champagne Tsarine. Paul Beavis, managing director of the UK operation, said: “We are consolidating the significant achievements made by the Lanson brand in recent years and adding to it two truly differentiated offerings covering food and indulgent occasions, and all at different price points.”??Londis wins MPK contractLondis has won a contract to supply beers, wines and spirits to MPK Garages, which operates 28 forecourt sites in the East Midlands, West Midlands, Yorkshire and southern England. The BWS package is part of three-year supply deal, which includes core lines from the Londis own-brand range. MPK was previously supplied by Palmer & Harvey.

Ridgeview scoops wine awardRidgeview Grosvenor Blanc de Blancs 2001 has won the Gore-Brown Trophy for Wine of the Year in the English & Welsh Wine of the Year competition. Chapel Down Bacchus 2009 picked up the Jack Ward Memorial Salver for Best Large Production Wine from the Previous Vintage. A record number of medals were awarded in the competition, including 26 golds, six of them for still rosé wines.
