The figures, for January 1 to April 20, showed Finca Flichman had a FOB value of US$406,000, ahead of rival brands Catena and Argento, with US$359,000 and US$293,000 respectively.
However, the Co-op’s own-label Argentinian wines surged ahead of the brands with an FOB value of US$791,000 over the same period, with Tesco’s Finest making US$330,000.
James Forbes, buying and marketing director for Stevens Garnier, Finca Flichman’s off-trade distributor in the UK, said: “Having just moved over from Wines of Argentina it is no surprise, but nevertheless a great thrill, to see Finca Flichman topping the league table of branded wine from Argentina.
“Ricardo Rebelo and his team in Mendoza have put quality and value for money at the forefront of their agenda.”
Finca Flichman wines under the Gestos and Misterio labels are listed in Waitrose, Morrisons, Majestic and the Co-op.
