The Brewing Food & Beverage Industry Suppliers Association has reported “encouraging” early interest in the Brewing Awards 2011, with brewers from across the globe registering their interest even though the competition officially opens for entries on August 1. The awards return to Burton upon Trent next February and forms can be requested at brewingawards.org.
Independent family brewer Palmers has launched its Dorset Gold ale in 50cl bottles. The golden premium ale is 4.5% abv and Palmers gives 5p from every bottle sold to sailing charity the Chesil Trust. Bottles will be available in the south and west of England in packs of 12 or presentation packs of eight.
Carlsberg UK has signed an exclusive four-year partnership between Tuborg and Live Nation. The brand will be the official beer of this year’s Wireless – sponsored by Barclaycard – and Hard Rock Calling festivals, as well as supplying the Global Gathering and Escape Into the Park events.
Tuborg will also be exclusively stocked in Cardiff CIA, Manchester Apollo, Southampton Guildhall and Sheffield Arena.
Molson Coors UK has appointed
ee Finney as supply chain director, replacing Martin Thomas who will retire at the end of June. Finney has joined the brewer from Goodman Fielder, the Australasia-based food company.
He has global experience within the packaging, food and baked goods sectors.
