Jaffa Cake vodka launch

25 June, 2010

A vodka-based spirit flavoured with Jaffa Cakes has been added to Stiffy’s range by Scottish drinks firm VC2 Brands.

The drink joins the Kola Kubez flavour which VC2 claims was the fastest-selling new drinks line in Asda last Christmas.

The new product, packaged in 70cl bottles with an abv of 20%, is pitched it into the fast-growing light spirits category. The sector is being fuelled by the success of Intercontinental Brands’ Vodkat.

Stiffy’s Jaffa Cake will have an rrp of £15.95. It will be available to the independent trade through Wallaces Express, William Morton, Booker and United Wholesale. Asda will be listing it from September.

The launch is being backed by POS, a promotional tour of Scotland and Ireland, and activity on Galaxy Radio.

Graham Coull, co-owner of VC2, said: “We like stretching boundaries by creating innovative-flavoured drinks for our consumers to enjoy. We feel Stiffy’s Jaffa Cake will become as iconic as Stiffy’s Kola Kubez. We have had some excellent feedback on the new flavour with strong pre-orders and hope to see the product become another favourite.”
