Coe adds Gin Mare

25 June, 2010

Coe Vintners has been appointed to handle the premium Spanish gin brand Mare in the UK market.

The family-owned brand is produced by Global Premium Brands in a 19th-century chapel in a fishing village on the Costa Dorada. The brand – pronounced mar-ray – takes its name from mar, meaning both sea and maternal.

The spirit is barley-based and botanicals include arbequina olives, thyme, basil, rosemary and citrus fruits, macerated in earthenware jars for over a year before distillation.

The gin has an abv of 42.3% and an rrp of £34.99.
