Coe adds Gin Mare

Coe Vintners has been appointed to handle the premium Spanish gin brand Mare in the UK market.

The family-owned brand is produced by Global Premium Brands in a 19th-century chapel in a fishing village on the Costa Dorada. The brand – pronounced mar-ray – takes its name from mar, meaning both sea and maternal.

The spirit is barley-based and botanicals include arbequina olives, thyme, basil, rosemary and citrus fruits, macerated in earthenware jars for over a year before distillation.

The gin has an abv of 42.3% and an rrp of £34.99.

Hofmeister may need more than the bear essentials to succeed

So, George The Bear is back. It’s hard for some of us oldies to fathom, but there are those under, say, 40 who can’t actually remember Hofmeister and feel the cultural jolt supplied by the return of both the bear and the beer whose marketing campaigns it used to front.
