Recall for Coors Home Draught

07 July, 2010

Molson Coors has recalled several batches of its new Home Draught units for Carling, Grolsch and Coors Light after what it called “an isolated packaging issue”.

The brewer said the recall affected less than 10% of stock produced so far.

It described the action as “precautionary” and said it followed a single consumer complaint about a ruptured pack “which rigorous testing demonstrates was the result of a combination of factors that is highly unlikely to be replicated”.

It added that the “vast majority” of affected batches were being held in depots by multiple retailers.

A company said in a statement: “Molson Coors will not take risks with consumer safety and any potential for a recurrent event, which remains extremely unlikely, makes this a prudent and responsible course of action to take.”

Home Draught was launched in May with an £8 million spend when chief executive Mark Hunter described it as “one of the most innovative products we’ve created”,

Welcoming the wine rookie

It’s all true. Wine writers loaf around in a state of partial inebriation and partial undress, bitching about having to taste free wine all day and using recondite words like malolactic, terroir and recondite.
