WKD Core ‘one hundred and tasty’

Beverage Brands has signed a major darts sponsorship deal for its WKD Core cider.

The brand is backing the 2010 World Match Play Championships, which runs until July 25 at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

WKD Core logos will appear on players’ shirts and on venue branding.

Sampling activity and special promotions will be held at the venue and on-site advertising will position Core as “one hundred and tasty” and “as tasty as a nine-dart finish”.

Visitors to the WKD website will have the chance to win a darts shirt signed by tournament competitors.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
