Cider of Sweden branches out and rebrands as COS

06 August, 2010

Kopparberg supplier Cider of Sweden has changed its name to COS Brands to reflect its move into drinks outside the cider category.

The company was set up in 2006 as a subsidiary of Sweden’s Kopparberg Breweries and now distributes and markets Frank’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer alongside its six-strong cider range.

COS Brands managing director Davin Nugent said he was “open to other possibilities” in terms of diversifying the portfolio further.

“For now, it is our main focus to further develop the Kopparberg range to its full potential and to continue seeding the Frank’s brand,” he said.

“Kopparberg has made huge gains over the past six months, particularly with the launch of our Strawberry & Lime variant and the Pear 12-can pack for the off-trade.

“In changing our name, we are reflecting the changing nature of our business and allowing us to take advantage of opportunities as they may arise in the future.”

English wine: a happy harvest for Christmas
