Indie re-opens under new guise

03 September, 2010

Worcestershire independent wine retailer Stanton Wine Company has closed for business.

The premises has reopened under the ownership of James Kemp. It has been renamed Broadway Wine Company after the town in which it is located.

Stanton Wines was established as a wholesale business in 1995 and opened the shop in 2001. Kemp said the shop had not been trading to its full potential and his priority was to increase stock levels and run more tasting events.

Looking back to look forward

Wine is a liquid time capsule. Drinking older vintages not only recalls the weather conditions and winemaking styles of the past, it encourages us to reflect upon our own histories. Such reminiscence often inclines towards romanticised nostalgia. Especially after the second bottle. But looking back is a great way of learning about the future.
