A touch of spice for Chairman’s rum
Published:  03 September, 2010

Emporia Brands has launched a spiced version of its Chairman’s Reserve rum following a test in the on-trade in major cities.

Chairman’s Reserve Spiced is infused with ingredients including cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla, coconut, allspice, lemon and orange, plus a kind of bark called richeria grandis.

The 40% abv rum is being listed by online retailer the Drink Shop, which is selling it for £18.95, and specialist spirits shop Gerry’s, with a bottle price of £20.65.

Emporia chairman James Rackham said: “We have been working for more than a year on creating the right blend of spices. The natural sweetness works subtly with ginger beer and cranberry juice.”
