Galliano liqueur range gets a shake-up

Maxxium UK is relaunching its Galliano Vanilla liqueur to bring its look into line with the rest of the Galliano range.

It is also reducing the strength of the coffee liqueur Galliano Ristretto from 42.3% to 30% abv after just a year on the market.

It said the move was to make it “more versatile” for making mixed drinks.

Maxxium said it would also change the bottle size for the whole range from 70cl to 50cl within the next year, a move which “meets the needs of customers in both the on and off-trade”.

The current iconic Galliano bottle shape will be retained.

The 70cl version of the bottle will remain available to the trade for display purposes.

Galliano’s range is completed by the original L’Autentico and Balsamico, which was launched with Ristretto in 2009.

Rosé tinted glasses

I was asked recently what I thought the biggest change had been in wine fashion in the past five years. My answer was unequivocal: sales of pink wines. From being a niche that expanded and contracted with the sunshine, rosé has subtly but steadily become a stalwart of many merchants’ ranges, with Provence firmly at the top and asked for by name.
